Remy Attig

Remy Attig is assistant professor of translation studies & Spanish at Bowling Green State University. He grew up speaking Spanish and English and lived for over a decade in French-English bilingual contexts in Canada....

This life experience informs his academic interest in the way that bilingual, multilingual, and queer identities are expressed and how they are (mis)understood by monolinguals and often rewritten through translation. As a queer person himself, Remy also enjoys translating queer and translingual texts which challenge linguistic prescriptivism. He translates from Spanish, French, Portuguese and related translanguages.
