She completed her undergraduate degree at the Universidad de Buenos Aires before earning her MA in Latin American literature at the University of Maryland and her PhD at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, where she wrote her dissertation on the Brazilian novels of Argentinean writer Manuel Puig. As a translator, she works between Portuguese, French, English, and Spanish. She has taught courses in language, literature, cultural studies, and translation at several universities.
