Miguelángel López (Vito Apushana) was born in 1965 in Carraipia, Colombia. Poet, professor at the University of La Guijaira, and television producer, his works of poetry include Contrabandeo sueños con arijunas cercanos and Encuentros en los senderos de Abya Yala, which earned the Casa de las Américas Prize.
