Shumona Sinha

Shumona Sinha was born in Calcutta in 1973 and moved to Paris in 2001. Her first novel, Fenêtre sur l’abîme, was published in 2008. Her second novel, Assommons les pauvres! (2011), was awarded the Prix du roman populiste 2011 and the Prix Valéry-Larbaud 2012, and her third novel, Calcutta (2014), was awarded the Prix du rayonnement de la langue et de la littérature françaises by the Académie Française and the Grand Prix du Roman of the Société des gens de lettres. Her latest novel, Apatride, appeared in January 2017.
