Sara Hamza Al-Jack is a Sudanese novelist and short story writer. She was born in Khartoum and studied architecture in Khartoum’s College of Applied Studies. Her published works include the collections Secret Prayers (2009) and Propaganda (2017), and the novel Once Upon a Betrayal (2013), for which she won the Tayeb Salih Prize for Creative Writing. Al-Jack is an active figure in the Sudanese literary scene, and has recently founded her own publishing house, Dar Al-Faal, through which she continues to publish fiction and poetry by up-and-coming Sudanese authors.
