Rönn-Lisa Zakrisson

Rönn-Lisa Zakrisson is a poet, queer activist, and spoken word artist currently working at Kiruna Sámi Theatre (Giron Sámi Teáhter). In 2019 she won the title of poetry slam champion of the Swedish county of Norrbotten and took second place in Sweden’s national poetry slam competition. Much of her poetry focuses on colonialism in Sápmi (the Sámi lands) and northern Sweden. Nature, mining, politics, sex, and queerness are other favorite topics. Rönn-Lisa writes in Swedish rather than a Sámi language; she argues that it is the rest of Sweden, not the Sámi people, who need to hear more about colonialism in the north.
