Pema Tseden

Born in Trika, Amdo (Guide County, Qinghai Province), to a nomadic family, Pema Tseden is the leading Tibetan filmmaker. His films The Silent Holy Stones, The Search, Old Dog, and The Sacred Arrow have met with international acclaim. But before he started making films, Tseden was a fiction writer and a teacher. He has published two collections of short stories, Man and Dog and Deception. He is a graduate of the Tsolho (Hainan) Nationalities’ Normal College in Chabcha and the Northwest Nationalities University in Lanzhou.
