Omar Youssef Souleimane is a French Syrian writer born in 1987 in Qoteyfeh, Syria. He studied Arabic literature and worked as a journalist in Syria before moving to France in 2012....

Since his exile, he has published four novels: Le Petit terroriste, Le Dernier Syrien, Une chambre en exil, and Être Français, and five poetry collections: Je ferme les yeux et j’y vais, which won the Kuwaiti Saad Al Sabbah Prize; Il ne faut pas qu’ils meurent ; La mort ne séduit pas les ivrognes, which won the Prix Amélie Murat; L’enfant Oublié ; and Loin de Damas, winner of the Prix poète en résistance. In 2022, Le Petit terroriste was adapted and produced on stage in Versailles, France.
