Marina Harss is a freelance dance writer and translator in New York, a weekly contributor to the “Goings On About Town” section of the New Yorker magazine, and a regular reviewer for DanceTabs and DanceView. Her dance writing has appeared in Dance Magazine, Flaunt Magazine, the Forward, Pointe, and Ballet Review, and she has written for Playbill and the Nation. Her translations include Dino Buzzati’s Poem Strip and Pasolini’s Stories from the City of God. She received the 2012 French-American Foundation and Florence Gould Foundation Translation Prize for her translation of Élisabeth Gille’s The Mirador.
