Scholar and essayist Małgorzata Gorczyńska holds a PhD in literary theory and teaches literature and creative writing at University of Wrocław, Poland. She is the recipient of many fellowships, including from the Czech Academy of Sciences. She writes about Polish and Czech poetry, most recently about the litany poems of Bohuslav Reynek and the philosophical laboratory of Adam Zagajewski.
Her essays appear regularly in some of the most important academic journals of Central Europe, such as Pamiętnik Literacki, Česká literatura, and Sinn und Form. Her first book, Leśmian’s Locations (2011), explores the critical reception of one of the greatest Polish poets. She is currently working on her second book, Poem in Motion, a personal and aesthetic study of the poetry of Tomasz Różycki.
