Lukman Derky

Lukman Derky was born in Derbassiya, Syria, in 1966. He was a member of Aleppo University’s literary circle in the 1980s. He has published six collections of poetry and one of short stories. He has worked for television and theatre as a writer, actor, and author, also writing in Syrian and Arabic newspapers, with a daily column in Baladna, a Syrian paper. He is a cofounder of the satirical newspaper Al-Dumery, and founder of Alif magazine for new writing. He lives in Damascus.
