Laura Adlers (1967) was born in Canada, where she earned a BA in French and German language, literature, and translation from the University of Toronto. She has been a professional culture manager since 1995, working primarily with performing artists and arts advocacy organizations.
In 2015, she completed her Master of Management in international arts management through studies at HEC Montréal, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Universidad de los Andes in Bogotà, SDA Bocconi in Milan, and thesis research in Riga. Her translations from Latvian to English include online and print marketing materials, biographies, catalogs, articles, song lyrics, and program and CD recording notes for artists both in Latvia and abroad. She also has extensive experience translating academic documents and is particularly interested in translating fiction, nonfiction, and special interest books. She is currently translating Latvian children’s literature and adult prose for Latvia’s participation in the London Book Fair.
