Herson Tissert Pérez was born in Santiago de Cuba in 1977. He earned a BA in art history from the Universidad de Oriente (2000). In 2002, his short story “Cuidado con el perro” (“Beware of Dog”) won the Premio César Galeano from the Centro de Formación Literaria Onelio Jorge Cardoso, where he was a student.
In 2014, “Proyecto sueño real” (“Project DreamReal”) was awarded honorable mentions in two literary competitions, the VI Concurso de Ciencia Ficción y Fantasía “Oscar Hurtado,” and the Concurso Hermanos Loynaz. His stories and microfictions have appeared in several magazines, and in anthologies published in Cuba and the Dominican Republic. He currently works as an editor at Ediciones Caserón, the publishing house of the Santiago de Cuba branch of the National Union of Artists and Writers of Cuba (UNEAC).
