Emma Braslavsky writes, moderates, curates, and directs. She was born in a year when a good two million more mines had been put in place on one side of the German-German border, and soldiers with shoulder-length hair had been given hairnets on the other. Her writing is concerned about the meaning and future of humanity.
She has published multiple award-winning novels, stories, essays, stage works, audio art, artworks, and exhibitions. Her novella Ich bin dein Mensch (I’m your man) was made into the 2021 movie of the same name and is under review in an English translation by Holly Yanacek. Her fifth novel, Erdling (Earthling), for which she received the 2021 Harald Gerlach Award, has just been published by Suhrkamp.
