Deniz Utlu was born in Hannover. He lives in Berlin, and has been honored with the Ulrich-Beer-Prize for young writers in 2010 and has been a fellow at the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin (LCB). His first novel, Die Ungehaltenen, was published in 2014 at Graf Verlag in Munich.
