Clara Ng

Clara Ng was born in Jakarta in 1973. In 1997, she graduated from Ohio State University with majors in interpersonal communication and linguistics. She lived in the US for seven years before returning to Indonesia in 1999. Ng is a prolific writer: she has written novels, short stories, essays, and tales for children. She also leads creative writing classes in a number of cities and regions in Indonesia. She is the author of twelve novels, most recently Love Drama Potion. In 2010, her novel Varaiya’s Spells made the longlist for the Khatulistiwa Literary Awards. Ng also writes fairy tales, for which she has received multiple Adikarya Ikapi awards.
