László Krasznahorkai

László Krasznahorkai was born in 1954 in Gyula, Hungary. He is the recipient of, among others, the 2019 National Book Award for Translated Literature, the 2015 Man Booker International Prize, and the 2013 Best Translated Book Award in Fiction. His work has been translated into  Japanese, Czech, English, Polish, French, Spanish, and German, and his major novels have been adapted for film as well by Bela Tarr.
