Zjaleh Hajibashi

Zjaleh Hajibashi teaches Persian at the University of Virginia. Her articles on Persian literature and her reviews of writing on the Middle East have been published in Critique, Edebiyat, Iranian Studies, Middle East Journal, Middle East Report, and elsewhere. She also writes poetry and fiction. She is presently working on a study of prison memoirs titled, "Writing Confinement: The Limits of Autobiographical Expression in Iran" and on Days Break in Iran, a novel that draws inspiration from post-revolution prison accounts.
