Žanete Vēvere Pasqualini was born in Riga. She worked for the Latvian Embassy in Rome, which has led to her now dividing her time between Latvia and Italy, and has translated literature for both adults and children. In 2016, her translation from Italian to Latvian, Pagrīdes ieceļotāji” by Valentina Paravano and Valerio Tassara, was published by “Pētergailis.” The following translations have been published or will be shortly published in English: Ieva Flamingo’s collection of children’s poetry, The Noisy Classroom (Emma Press); Luīze Pastore’s children’s novel, Dog Town (Firefly); Kristine Ulberga’s novel, The Green Crow (Peter Owen Press); a short-story collection, Dace Rukšāne’s Birds of Ķīpsala Island; and Sven Kuzmins’s short story “The Shakes,” in The Book of Riga (Comma Press).
