Zahra Hosseinzadeh was born in 1979 in Lal in Ghor Province, Afghanistan. She became a refugee before she learned to speak and now lives in Mashhad, Iran. She has a B.A. in Theology and is a member of the editorial committee of Khatt-e Sevvom and an active member of the Dorr-e Dari Cultural Centre.
For many years she has been a teacher of Persian language and literature and religion in autonomous refugee schools and religious schools. Her poetry collection, Name-i az Lale-ye Kuhi [Letter from a Mountain Tulip’] has reached its second printing, and she has two more collections ready for publication.
