Walter van den Berg (b. 1970, the Netherlands) is a novelist and computer programmer who became one of the first Dutch bloggers. His style is rhythmic and to-the-point, and characterized by cool humor. His debut De hondenkoning (The Dog King, 2004), a novel about a lonely computer programmer who falls in love with the underage girl next door, was proclaimed best debut by Esquire magazine. Three years later West appeared, about two brothers on a housing estate in the western suburbs of Amsterdam. In 2013 he published his most recent novel Van dode mannen win je niet (You Can’t Beat a Dead Man).
