Vónbjørt Vang (1974) was born and raised in the northern town of Klaksvík in the Faroe Islands. She earned her MA in Comparative Literature and Contemporary Cultural Studies from the University of Copenhagen. Vang is an accomplished photographer who also works as a librarian, editor and freelance critic. Her debut poetry collection, Millumlendingar (In Transit), received critical acclaim in the Faroe Islands for its intimate portrayal of the identity struggles many Faroese women face when they move to Denmark in search of social emancipation and better opportunities.
