He is a graduate of the MA in Literary Translation program at the University of East Anglia and, with Margaret Jull Costa, has produced cotranslations of stories by Agustina Bessa-Luís, one of the pillars of twentieth-century Portuguese literature, which appeared in the anthology Take Six: Six Portuguese Women Writers
. His translations of works by María Fernanda Ampuero, Itamar Vieira Junior, and Murilo Rubião have appeared in the literary journals Latin American Literature Today
and Mānoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing

, focuses on the worlds of literary translation and small press fiction, publishing interviews with authors, publishers, and translators, as well as reports on book-related events. He is currently working on a cotranslation of a novel by Colombian author Evelio Rosero with Anne McLean.
