Victor Meadowcroft

Victor Meadowcroft grew up at the foot of the Sintra Mountains in Portugal and translates from Portuguese and Spanish. He is a graduate of the MA in Literary Translation program at the University of East Anglia and, with Margaret Jull Costa, has produced cotranslations of stories by Agustina Bessa-Luís, one of the pillars of twentieth-century Portuguese literature, which appeared in the anthology Take Six: Six Portuguese Women Writers. His translations of works by María Fernanda Ampuero, Itamar Vieira Junior, and Murilo Rubião have appeared in the literary journals Latin American Literature Today and Mānoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing. His blog, Onomatomania, focuses on the worlds of literary translation and small press fiction, publishing interviews with authors, publishers, and translators, as well as reports on book-related events. He is currently working on a cotranslation of a novel by Colombian author Evelio Rosero with Anne McLean.
