Victor de la Cruz is a widely published poet and the author of many works that were originally part of the Zapotecan oral tradition. A scholar as well as a writer and an editor, he has been a researcher in the Center for Research and Graduate Studies in Social Anthropology. He was born in Juchitán, Oaxaca in 1948.
