Stanisław Barańczak, professor of Slavic Languages at Harvard University, is a poet, literary scholar, and translator who emigrated from Poland in 1981. He is the author of several books of poetry and critical works and, with Clare Cavanagh, the translator of Wisława Szymborska's View with a Grain of Sand and Poems New and Collected.
