She has been invited as translator-in-residence at Cove Park, Scotland, and poet-in-residence at Arcs of a Circle, Mumbai. Her work has been showcased at the 2017 London Book Fair and she has been published in Asymptote

She has presented research papers on translation–theory and practice–at national and international conferences organised by the Indian Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies (IACLALS), the International Association of Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS) in collaboration with Routledge (London), Jamia Milia Islamia, Aligarh Muslim University, Jadavpur University and others. She has ten academic publications to her credit and is a recipient of the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund Award (2013) and Sarojini Dutta Memorial Prize (2011). Her intellectual curiosities range from gender and translation studies to the poetics and politics of street art.
Somrita is currently translating a political biography, a young adults’ novel, and an anthology of erotic verses, to be published in December this year.
