Siti Keo is a PhD candidate at the University of California, Berkeley, in the history department. She conducted fieldwork for her dissertation in Cambodia from 2007 to 2010. Her area of interest is the Sangkum Reastr Niyum period (namely the 1950s and ’60s) and her dissertation explores the construction of urban identity as seen through the works of Cambodian writers and intellectuals at the time. She has taught Southeast Asian history and politics and lectures on Cambodian history and culture.
