Shoshana Akabas is a New York–based writer, teacher, and translator. Her writing and translations have appeared in The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Kenyon Review, Elle Magazine, and elsewhere. She earned an MFA from Columbia University and has received awards and fellowships from the American Literary Translators Association, National Geographic Society, and Gladstone's Library. She is also the executive director of New Neighbors Partnership, a nonprofit that provides support to newly arrived refugees during the resettlement process.
