Sheila Fischman has translated over 150 works of Quebec literature from French to English, including fiction by such renowned writers as Hubert Aquin, Anne Hébert, Jacques Poulin, Gaétan Soucy, Michel Tremblay, Marie-Claire Blais and Kim Thuy. She has received the Governor General’s Literary Award for Translation, the Félix-Antoine Savard Award for Translation, and Canada’s prestigious Molson Prize. She is a Member of the Order of Canada and a chevalier of the Ordre national du Québec.
