Saliha Paker is Professor of Translation Studies at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, and Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Byzantine, Ottoman and Modern Greek Studies, University of Birmingham. She received her BA and Ph.D. in English and Classics at Istanbul University.
Her current research is focused on Ottoman/Turkish translation history; her work in English includes an edited volume, Translations: (Re)shaping of Literature and Culture, various essays in international publications, and translations of modern Turkish literature such as Latife Tekin's Berji Kristin: Tales from the Garbage Hills (with Ruth Christie).
