Roland Kelts is the author of Japanamerica: How Japanese Pop Culture Has Invaded the U.S. (2007). He was a 2017 Nieman Fellow in Journalism at Harvard University and is now working on a new book. He has written for several publications in the US, Europe, and Japan, including the New Yorker, the New York Times, Harper’s Magazine, the Guardian, and the Japan Times.
