Rema Hmoud is a Palestinian Jordanian author. She studied Arabic language and literature at Hashemite University. Currently, she works as a teacher of Arabic in Kuwait. Read More She is the author of three novels, Jamila’s Days (2015), Identity 2000 (2017), and Shadows of Frightened Blue (2020), and two short story collections, Balloons (2013) and Perfume Crime (2012). In 2008, she was runner-up in the Souad al-Sabah House prize for short stories in Kuwait. She is also a member of Rabitat Al-Udaba in Kuwait. She has published a number of short stories in Jordanian and Kuwaiti journals, such as al-Rai, al-Nahar, and al-Dustor. Her short story “Glass,” published in ArabLit Quarterly in Ibrahim Fawzy’s translation, was shortlisted for Deep Vellum’s 2024 Best Literary Translations Anthology.
