Rebecca L. Salois is a PhD Candidate in the the Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Languages program at the CUNY Graduate Center. Her research is on the uses of humor in Cuban theater of the twentieth century. Her dissertation is currently titled “Choteo Cubano: Humor as a Critical Tool in Twentieth-Century Cuban Theater.” She was in Havana, Cuba for the month of September 2016 conducting further research and attending various theater performances.
