Pep Puig was born in Terrassa, Catalonia in 1969. He published his first book, L’home que torna (The Man Who Comes Back), an interpretation of Homer’s The Odyssey, in 2005. Two years later, he published Les llàgrimes de la senyoreta Marta (Miss Marta’s Tears), influenced by Peter Bogdanovich’s classic film, The Last Picture Show. He then published a collection of short stories, L’amor de la meva vida de moment (The Love of my Life, for the Time Being). Just a year after that he was awarded the Sant Jordi Prize, the most emblematic award for Catalan literature, for his novel, La vida sense la Sara Amat (Life without Sara Amat).
