Mitchell Albert

Mitchell Albert is the London-based publisher and commissioning editor of Garnet and Ithaca Press, two imprints specializing in nonfiction from and about the Middle East. In 2015 he created Periscope, an imprint publishing international literary fiction and nonfiction, and recently he cofounded Paper + Ink, which publishes short stories from around the world. He is also the former commissioning editor of the independent publishing house Saqi Books, and helped found its fiction imprint, Telegram, in 2005. He was the first Programme Director of Writers' Centre Norwich (soon to become the National Centre for Writing), and, for several years prior to that, the first dedicated editor of PEN International's literary magazine. He is the coeditor, with Olivia Snaije, of Keep Your Eye on the Wall: Palestinian Landscapes (2013).
