Mel Kenne

Mel Kenne teaches in the American Literature and Culture Department at Kadir Has University in Istanbul. He has published three books of poetry, one of which, South Wind, won the 1984 Austin Book Award. He also wrote the poetry for The Book of Ed, a poetic/musical/dramatic compact disk based loosely on the myth of Oedipus. Kenne's poems and his translations of poems by Turkish writers have appeared in many magazines in America and Turkey.
