Maïssa Bey

Maïssa Bey has published six novels and two story collections in France and Algeria. All await translation into English. Her Nouvelles d'Algerie (Grasset, 1998) won the Grand Prix de la Nouvelle de la Societe des Gens de Lettres. Bey is also president of a women's group, Paroles et Ecriture, which founded a thriving multilingual public library in Sidi Bel Abbes three years ago. You can read about it at www.chevre-feuille.fr.
