Llwyd Owen is an award-winning author who has published eleven novels since bursting onto the Welsh literary scene in 2006, when his ferocious and challenging debut novel, Ffawd Cywilydd a Chelwyddau (Fate, Shame and Lies), was published to widespread acclaim....

The author’s second novel, Ffydd Gobaith Cariadfollowed six months later, went on to win the 2007 Welsh Book of the Year Award, and was published in English translation as Faith, Hope & Love by Alcemi in 2010. Since then, he has published, on average, a novel a year, while also working as a translator, an occasional scriptwriter and television presenter, and, more recently, a creator of his own podcast. His latest novel, Pyrth Uffern (The Gates of Hell), was selected by Wales Literature Exchange for its Bookcase of titles recommended for translation. His forthcoming novella Iaith y Nefoedd (The Language of Heaven) will be published in the autumn in tandem with an accompanying album by rock band Yr Ods.
