Llŷr Gwyn Lewis is an award-winning Welsh-language poet and prose writer....

His first prose work, the semi-autobiographical Rhyw Flodau Rhyfel (Some Flowers of War, 2014), which traces the narrator’s journey to uncover more about the life and death of his great-uncle killed in Syria in WWII, won the Wales Book of the Year award in the creative nonfiction category, and his poetry collection, Storm ar Wyneb Haul (Storm on the Face of the Sun, 2014), was shortlisted in the poetry category. His first short story collection, Fabula, was shortlisted for the Wales Book of the Year award 2018 and selected for Wales Literature Exchange Bookcase, a selection of titles recommended for translation. He is a regular in the BBC Radio Cymru Talwrn y Beirdd competition for teams of poets, contributing in strict meter and vers libre. Llŷr Gwyn Lewis was selected as one of the Ten New Voices from Europe for 2017, a selection of emerging writers from around Europe made by the Literary Europe Live network of festivals headed by Literature Across Frontiers.
