Lilya Kalaus was born in 1969 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She is a philologist, author, literary editor, script writer, radio presenter, and artist. Read More  She is the author of seven books, both for children (with Zira Nauryzbayeva) and adults, and her stories have been published in print and online literary journals in Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Germany, Ukraine, and the USA.
