La. Sa. Ramamirtham (1915–2007), also known as “La.Sa.Ra” in literary circles, was an eminent Tamil writer who authored three hundred short stories, six novels, and ten collections of essays. He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1989 for Chintha Nadhi, a collection of autobiographical essays.
