Khadija Tracey Heeger

Khadija Tracey Heeger is a poet, actress, facilitator, cultural activist, and writer who hails from the Cape Flats in Cape Town. She has performed and written two multimedia poetic/theatre pieces, Stone Words and Uhadi, and has collaborated with organizations such as the Jazzart Dance Company, the Centre for Curating Archive, the District Six Museum of Cape Town, the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation, and the Daily Music Show, a Cape Town poetry and ghoema jazz venue. She is the author of the poetry collection Beyond the Delivery Room (Modaji, 2013); her second collection is forthcoming. She has appeared in a number of Kyknet television series, including Sarah se Geheim (Sarah’s Secret), Arendsvlei, Afgrond, and Suidooster, and several films, among them Ellen: The Ellen Pakkies Story and the ITV docudrama What Lies Beneath.
