Kei Miller won the Jamaica Observer Literary Prizes for both fiction and poetry in 2002. His first collection of poetry, Kingdom of Empty Bellies, came out in 2005. A year later, his debut short story collection, The Fear of Stones and Other Stories, was short-listed for the Commonwealth Writers First Book Prize. In fall 2007, Carcanet Press brought out both a new volume of Miller's poetry, There Is An Anger That Moves, and an anthology, New Caribbean Poetry, edited by Miller. In winter 2007-8, he will begin teaching at the University of Glasgow.
