Jura Avizienis

Jūra Avižienis has been translating Lithuanian literature into English since 1990, when her first translations appeared in Violeta Kelertas’s anthology ­Come Into My Time: Lithuania in Prose Fiction: 1970-90 (Illinois).  Her work has appeared in The Vilnius Review, Best European Fiction (2011), and The Dedalus Book of Lithuanian Literature (2013).  She has translated two novels by Rasa Aškinytė: The Easiest (Noir Press, UK) and The Man Who Needed Nothing (Sofoklis, Lithuania). She teaches writing at Boston University.
