Jeffrey Wasserstrom

Jeffrey Wasserstrom is the author, most recently, of China in the 21st Century: What Everyone Needs to Know (Oxford University Press, 2010 and 2013 editions). The Chancellor’s Professor of History at UC Irvine, where he also holds a courtesy appointment in law and serves as the historical writing mentor for the Literary Journalism Program, he is editor of the Journal of Asian Studies, a member of Dissent's editorial board, and advising editor on China for the Los Angeles Review of Books. His reviews and comments have appeared in a wide range of venues, from the New York Times and New Left Review to the TLS, the FT, and the Wall Street Journal.
