Hector de Mauleon was born in Mexico City in 1963.
He is the author of the novel El secreto de la Noche Triste, the short-story collections La perfecta espiral and Como nada en el mundo, and the essays El tiempo repentino y El derrumbe de los ídolos, as well as the anthology Ángel de Campo. He founded and directed the cultural supplements Posdata, in El Independiente, and Confabulario, in El Universal. He is currently deputy director of Nexos magazine, a columnist in the supplement Laberinto in Milenio Diario, and host of the television program “El Foco” of Project 40.
