Grigori Kruzhkov is a poet and translator born in 1945. He graduated from the physics department of Tomsk University and attended graduate school, specializing in the physics of high energies. He published poems and translations of foreign poetry, mainly from English, starting with John Donne and ending with William Yeats. He is the author of four books of poems and has also written and translated poetry for children, and has published scholarlship on the history of Silver Age Russian poetry and Russian-English literary connections. He has taught at Columbia University and now lives in Moscow.
