François Bon was born in Vendee in 1953. After studying mechanical engineering at the Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Arts et Metiers, he specialized in electron beam welding and he worked in the aerospace and nuclear industries for many years.
In 1980-1982 he turned his attention to studying philosophy and published his first novel, Sortie d'usine [Factory Exit] with editions Minuit. From that point on, he has dedicated himself to literature. His prodigious accomplishments now number more than thirty works including novels, poetry, and children's literature. His novels include Sortie d'Usine, (Minuit, 1979), Limite, (Minuit, 1985), Le Crime de Buzon, (Minuit, 1986), Un fait divers, (Minuit, 1994) and many others. He has also dedicated himself to teaching and organizing writing workshops particularly for underprivileged people. He is also the founder of the literary Web site: www.remue.net. None of his books have been translated into English.
