Eyad Barghuthy was born and raised in Nazareth, and currently resides in Haifa, where he is the Director of the Arab Culture Association. He graduated with BA Tel Aviv University in sociology and political science. Barghuthy’s books include the novel Burdaqaneh (Orange) published in 2014, and two short story collections, Bayn Al-Buyuut (Among the Houses) which was awarded a young writer’s motivation award by the A. M. Qattan Foundation, and Nuduuj (Maturity). In 2009, his short story “Al-Samma‘ah” (The Headset) won the Sea of Words short story competition, sponsored by Anna Lindh Foundation and European Institute of the Mediterranean. He has also written four plays and the script for a short film.
