Étienne Davodeau was born in the Les Mauges region of France in 1965. He has published numerous highly-acclaimed graphic novels and works of graphic nonfiction. In 2006, he won the Grand Prix de la Critique for Les Mauvaises Gens, in addition to the France Info Prize and the Angoulême Audience Award.
